“I Plead Not Guilty, Your Honour” - Brett Stewart

Brett Stewart will fight for his innocence in court this week, as sexual assault allegations run high. It is alleged Stewart indecently assaulted a 17 Year old girl outside his manly townhouse in march last year, after the Sea Eagles season launch. The girls father has claimed that Stewart's reply was ''No, bro, I didn't touch your daughter, bro''. Neighbours who heard the noise outside swiftly called police and gave evidence in court that Stewart's replies were more along the line of ''Let's just go inside and chat about it.'' The NRL has dropped Stewart as the ‘face of the game’ due to the current situation unfolding.  Sea Eagles, performance analyst has gone to great lengths in court describing Stewart as a man who would never disrespect a woman, and the allegations were untrue and unjust. Whether or not Stewart is guilty police say there is no DNA evidence supporting the claims. The girls father at the head of the court hearing has admitted he spent time in prison for deceptive and dishonesty. The trial follows on to Monday.
